♻️🍽️ Buy Food With Plastic Waste
There's this awesome project called Buy Food with Plastic tackling two big issues: plastic pollution and extreme poverty.
They're running events in Ghana, Nicaragua, and India where people can trade in plastic bottles for hot meals.

It's not just about feeding folks though - they're raising awareness about environmental issues while at it.
They're turning those collected bottles into useful products like surf combs and outdoor blankets.
The idea is to create a self-sustaining cycle where plastic waste becomes valuable again.
An impactful way to address both environmental and social issues, don't you think?
⌛ Time for the quiz of the week

✨ Startup of the week: Bpacks
These containers are made of bark and are ready to take on single-use plastic.
Plastic Paradox…Plastic has transformed the packaging industry by allowing us to pack fruits, vegetables, and meat, extending their shelf life. It also helps in storing cooked food, preventing contamination. But plastic contributes to environmental problems, and microplastics have become a significant health concern.
Bark's Bite…Bpacks tackles this issue by replacing petroleum-based rigid plastics with bark-based biodegradable bioplastics.
It takes bark from timber production, which is available in abundance.
It then combines it with used coffee grounds and other bio-based materials.
The final product is 100% home-compostable containers.
And here’s the best part:
These can be made using existing plastic machines which will make their price competitive. Something that plastic alternatives always struggle with.
