3 Ways I Can Help You on Your Sustainability Journey
This edition is sponsored by Zestyplan
All of us can have a positive impact on the planet by changing the way we eat. But change is hard. Zestyplan is making this transition to sustainable eating easier through its mobile app.
The app contains:
🤔 A meal planner
🥗 A recipe creator, finder, and saver
📝 A grocery list maker
🔍 A sustainable food brands database
Recipe creators can build a recipe based on what's in your fridge, and find low-impact recipes as well. The grocery list maker then creates a list from your recipe, ensuring that you only buy what you'll use. You have the option to purchase these items from your usual stores, or the app can suggest sustainable food brands. This process not only reduces food waste but also makes meal planning easier and supports sustainable brands.

🏅Paris 2024: Redefining Olympic Gold with Sustainability
Paris 2024 is shaking things up with a major sustainability plan for the upcoming Olympics. They're focusing on using fewer resources and making sure those resources have a life after the Games. They've even calculated how many resources they'll need - a first for the Olympics.
Tokyo 2020 started this trend of circular principles, but Paris 2024 is taking it to a new level. They're hiring rather than buying wherever possible - think sporting equipment, electronic gear, even stands and tents. Plus, they're cutting their single-use plastic use in half compared to London 2012!
The Olympic 2024 team is already planning for the second life of resources before the Games even start. For instance, the plates at the Athletes' Village restaurant won't have a logo so they can be reused. Partitions developed by Saint-Gobain can be reused to convert athletes' rooms into housing. The Organizing Committee will also pass on the temporary swimming pools used during the Games to a local community for use.
Paris 2024 is truly going for the gold in sustainability!

✨ Startup of the Week: 4ocean
You can help remove 5 pounds of plastic from the ocean by buying this bracelet.
From Peaks to Placentas…The world has produced trillions of pounds of plastic, which ends up in our landfills and oceans. This plastic breaks down into smaller microplastics, which have been found everywhere on the planet, from the top of Everest to inside human placentas.
Making Waves…4ocean is actively addressing the plastic crisis. They employ fishermen to gather plastic from the oceans, with over 200 captains and crews worldwide. The harvested plastic is then cleaned, sorted, and transformed into 4ocean bracelets. These bracelets are handcrafted by women artisans in Bali. The proceeds from the sale of these bracelets are used to fund further cleanups.
Beads Against the Tides…Every bracelet sold contributes to the removal of 5 lbs of plastic, continuing the cycle. You can participate by purchasing these bracelets, thereby helping to fund ocean cleanup efforts.
