Hi Naman, I haven’t found the right approach to thrifting either. However, check out Beni, they have a cool tech driven approach that simplifies finding used clothes you want. PS: I don’t work there, just thought it was a clever idea

Oh ya! Beni is awesome. Thanks for sharing, Matthew. Heard that they are coming up with an app as well :)

I wasn't familiar with that company, just looked them up. The App is not available on Android yet, but it is on their radar. Hopefully it happens soon. Looks like a great extension for reducing shipping time on various thrift platforms!

One of the Polish "hacks" nowadays is that there are lots of individual people (mostly women) who go to the thrift shops, browse for the great quality clothes and luxury brands, then clean them and sell to people on Instagram or their own shops. And they have drops every week and sell with a high margin, but still a lot cheaper than you would pay for such clothing in a regular shop. That way you as a consumer can get great quality just by following these mini online shops and buying from them. You can also follow only the Instagramers near you to reduce the transport emissions. I don't know if such small businesses operate in Canada or other countries, but I'm sure they do :)

Love hearing this. I'll look for people on Instagram doing that in my area of Florida, USA. Thanks for the info Patrycja!

I like thrifting for the eco and money savings aspects HOWEVER... my recent issue with my latest thrift finds is the heavy odor on the clothes left behind from laundry soap or those scent beads. It was so bad, I wrote a blog about it a couple weeks ago. Getting ready to write and update because, every trick I tried and mentioned in my blog post didn't work at removing the scent . So discouraging! https://tangieco.com/blog/8-ways-to-remove-scent-from-thrift-store-clothes/

I don't like going to a physical thrift store when I need a price of clothing so I've used ThredUp.com about 6 times with excellent results for size and condition of the items. Fortunately none of those purchases had the have laundry scent like the items I recently purchased at my local thrift store and write about in my blog post. It's definitely not always easy being an eco shopper.

Thank you, Naman, for writing about thoughtful topics in your newsletter.
