🤲 Rent things from this library
I recently posted about a startup named TULU on LinkedIn. It allows people to rent stuff that we don’t often use. Stuff like vacuum cleaners, drill machines, and printers.
Whenever people need it, they can rent it from a vending machine which is set up at their apartment building’s reception. Once they are done using it, they can keep it back for others to use.
This reduces the amount of stuff that we produce and allows residents to have more space in their houses.
When I posted about TULU, a few readers told me about the concept of Library of Things. Operating in the UK< it has the same business model as TULU. It rents useful household items such as pasta makers, hedge trimmers, sewing machines, and projector screens.
People can browse for stuff online and reserve them.
They can then collect it and once they are done using it, they can return it.
The library even offers skillshare sessions where you can learn practical skills like DIY and repair.
Borrowing or repairing items you don't use often from startups like TULU or places like the Library of Things reduces the amount of things that are produced and end up in landfills as waste.
This is an impactful way for us to have a positive impact on the planet.
Do you have a Library of Things or something like TULU in your area? If so, comment below so that others in your area can benefit from that 👇🏼

✨ Startup of the Week: Paving+
These might look like normal tiles but they’re made by upcycling plastic waste.
Building Blues…Steel, concrete, and cement are the backbone of the construction industry. But they are also carbon-intensive products, making this industry one of the biggest polluters. On the other hand, we have the plastic crisis. Plastics have encroached on every aspect of our lives, impacting every species in the ecosystem.
One Tile At a Time…Indian startup Paving+ is innovatively addressing two major environmental issues: the construction industry's heavy carbon footprint and the global plastic waste crisis. They do this through a patented technology that upcycles plastic waste into building materials.
Future's Paving…This process not only provides a sustainable alternative to carbon-intensive construction materials like concrete and cement but also contributes to waste reduction. Each upcycled tile represents a step towards a more sustainable and cleaner future, demonstrating Paving+'s commitment to environmental innovation.
