🍃 A DIY solution to produce electricity
Mohamad Sabsabi was a French literature student, but he had to abruptly end his course due to hyperinflation in Lebanon, which made it impossible for him to continue paying his fees.
He then turned to YouTube, which he saw as a free university. However, this time, he wasn't studying French literature.
Instead, he watched videos, consulted books, and read scientific articles to learn how to build a wind turbine on his grandmother's roof.
By the end of this free course, he had successfully constructed a wind turbine.
What made it unique was the fact that he used old water drums, steel beams, and a cartwheel to build it.
The region where he resides is heavily reliant on solar panels, but not everyone can afford them.
By using scrap materials to construct wind turbines, Sabsabi wants to make electricity more accessible for everyone in the region.

✨ Startup of the week
Flush Ceramic…Bathroom fixtures are predominantly made of ceramics, which places a burden on the environment. The material is produced using an energy-intensive process that results in high carbon emissions, and a significant amount of water is also wasted during production.
Wooden Sanitaryware…Woodio, a Finnish design company, has found an alternative solution to ceramics or stone for making sanitaryware. They use a proprietary material called Woodio®, which is made from wood chips. Don't worry, it won't crumble after you take a bath 😄
🛁 It’s an innovative combination of wood & resin-based adhesives.
🛁 It’s a 100% waterproof solid wood composite.
🛁 It’s made from aspen trees in chip form and other wooden chips generated by the forest industry.
Sustainable Splash…The process consumes very little water and does not involve any carbon-intensive processes. In the future, it can also be used in kitchens and outdoor furniture.
