🚰 Quench your thirst and save the planet
mymizu is an app that helps people reduce single-use plastic. It is a crowdsourced, co-created platform available in 45 countries.
Users of the app have access to 200,000 water refill points worldwide. These points can be used for convenient water refills on the go and prevent you from buying single-use plastic bottles.
It also allows you to discover new cafes and shops (which offer refill points) while reducing plastic consumption and protecting the environment.
You can also log each refill you make. The app then displays the amount of emissions and money you saved. If you come across a refill point, you can also add it to the app.
So the next time you have a bottle with you but don’t know where to fill it, you know what to do!

✨ Startup of the week- Frate
The hidden fate of online returns…Online shopping has made it easy to return items with just a few clicks. The goods are then picked up from our location, and in most cases, the money is refunded instantly. However, what happens to the returned goods? While we might assume that they would be resold, the reality is that most of them are destroyed or sent to landfills. It is often easier to discard them rather than relist them. This wastes all the resources that were used to make these products and contributes to the growing problem of trash on our planet.
Rerouting Returns…Frate has found an innovative solution to that through its EcoDrop service. This is how it works:
🚛 Whenever there is a return request, EcoDrop asks customers to hold on to returns for up to seven days.
🚛 In the meantime, Frate tries to find a new customer by re-listing the item at a small discount.
🚛 Once an Ecodrop item is purchased, Frate handles the logistics of shipping it from the existing customer to the new one.
Win-win solution…This prevents the product from ending up in the trash. The original customer still receives free returns, while the new customer can purchase the product at a discounted price. This approach also saves on extra shipping and warehousing costs, benefiting the retailer, and reduces transportation and packaging emissions.
