When I started my journey to live a more conscious lifestyle, I tried to be a perfectionist.
Took extreme steps like going vegan, taking only public transport, and buying from only conscious brands.
It took a toll on me and people close to me.
Gradually, I shifted from perfectionism and began to emphasize progress over perfection. I reduced my meat and dairy consumption, started using Uber Share and Uber Green, and began purchasing from a combination of large and small (conscious) brands.
I’ve spoken to numerous people who had a similar journey when they decided to live a more conscious and planet-friendly life. I am sure you are somewhere on this journey as well. Knowing at which stage you are makes it less overwhelming.
Folks at OutsideIn HR have created this quiz to help you discover your Planet Persona.
After you take this quiz, they’ll send you a customized report indicating your climate persona. This will be followed by 10 tips distributed over 10 weeks to enhance your climate action efforts.
A great way to up your climate game!

♻️👜 Upcycle: From trash to tote bags
Alex Dabagh is on a mission to take all of New York City’s trash and upcycle it into these tote bags.
Each of these bags uses 95 single-use plastic bags. This keeps them away from landfills and waterways.
These bags are made by hand by leather artists in the city. Alex himself is a second-generation leathersmith.
The venture is known as aNY Bag, short for a New York bag.
The team collects the plastic, sorts it out, cleans it, and cuts it into small strips. It then weaves it into bags.
These bags are made from different kinds of plastic weaved together, making every bag unique.
Everything is cut, woven, and assembled by hand, making the process less carbon-intensive.
This helps to clean up New York City, one plastic bag at a time!

✨ Startup of the week: Zero Co
Plastic Purge…Single-use plastic takes decades to decompose. Till then, it sits in landfills and oceans where it leaches harmful chemicals into the environment. This impacts ecosystems, wildlife, and human health.
Refill Revolution…Zero Co is fighting this problem. It is on a mission to untrash the planet with its refillable products. It has built a reusable and refillable system and here’s how it works:
The customer orders a set of empty forever bottles along with refill pouches and a postage-paid return envelope.
They empty the contents of the refill pouches into the forever bottles.
They then put the empty refill pouches into the envelope and send it back to Zero Co for free.
Sustainably convenient…Zero Co then cleans, refills, and reuses the pouch. This helps stop the use of single-use plastic while making sure it’s convenient for the consumers.

🎯 EU's Early Achievement of 2030 Energy Goals
Multiple European countries have achieved their 2030 sustainable energy goals a decade ahead of schedule, with Sweden leading the pack, according to a recent study.
Major companies like Disney, Hormel, and Choice Hotels have been influenced by shareholder advocacy groups to report and reduce their plastic usage. The decision, triggered by the potential financial and reputational threats of single-use plastics, points towards a shift in corporate responsibility.
