🚘 Carbon-sucking car
TU Eindhoven student team TU/ecomotive has developed a sustainable electric passenger car called Zem.
It purifies the air through a special filter and captures more CO2 than it emits while driving.
The car can capture 2 kg of CO2 through a special filter at 20,000 travel miles per year, making it a step towards reducing global warming.
The Zem also has a bi-directional charging technology where it can supply energy from its battery back to the grid or directly to a home.
It has solar panels built into its roof, making it more sustainable even when not driving.
The car is designed to be carbon-neutral for its entire life cycle and the team aims to inspire the industry to create more sustainable cars.

✨ Startup of the week
Fine Mess…Businesses create a ton of waste, like paper, plastic, metals, electronics, and glass. Regulations require them to sort it all out and throw it away correctly. But tracing, segregating, and managing it takes a lot of time and money. So, a lot of the waste gets mixed together and ends up in landfills, causing more environmental issues. Also, if businesses don't follow the waste segregation regulations, they have to pay a fine.
Urbyn Solutions…90% of waste generated in France comes from businesses as well. French startup Urbyn is solving it for businesses and the planet. It has built a SaaS waste management platform. It helps businesses effectively segregate their waste at source and then connects them with local collection solutions.
This ensures that each waste stream is effectively handled.
It helps businesses save time and money.
And prevents the waste from ending up in landfills.
Tonne Goals…In 2023, it has prevented more than 3,000 tonnes of waste from landfill, and in 5 years, it wants to prevent 200,000 tonnes.
